Fuzhou, Fujian Province Launches Fisheries Disease Monitoring Services for Coastal Fishermen

On April 24, the Epidemic Prevention and Quarantine Department of the Fuzhou Marine and Fisheries Skills Center in Fujian Province conducted disease surveillance in Jianjiang Town, Luoyuan County.
To ensure Fuzhou City Aquaculture With aquaculture enterprises smoothly resuming work and production, and as water temperatures in marine areas gradually rise—creating conditions conducive to the outbreak of aquatic animal diseases—the Skills Center has leveraged its technical expertise to focus on monitoring fishery-related diseases. It has actively engaged in communication and exchange with aquaculture enterprises to gain a clear understanding of their production status and has provided guidance on the prevention and control of spring-time diseases prevalent in aquaculture, thereby effectively facilitating the resumption of operations by aquaculture enterprises in Fuzhou City.

In accordance with the “Monitoring Plan for Aquatic Animal Epidemics and Fishery Diseases in Major Aquaculture Areas of Fuzhou City,” this year a special monitoring program will be conducted on 13 aquatic animal diseases affecting Fuzhou’s major farmed species, including whiteleg shrimp, eel, abalone, and goldfish, as well as on major, frequently occurring and highly susceptible diseases in the city’s aquaculture industry.
